I remember years ago when I took a visit to the Dominican Republic…
To the capital city of Santo Domingo…
I happened to meet this Dominican chick named Germania.
A very petite, medium brown skin chick with black hair and who was probably around 5’5 or maybe 5’4 in height roughly speaking…
Anyway, we had a time set up..
Where I went from my hotel to some bar that we were going to meet at…
And I got there first as she showed up late in typical Latina fashion..
Well, as I was sitting down at a table waiting for her…
I see this chick walk past the security into the bar and she was wearing a black dress.
Anyway, she walks on over to a table by herself and I am thinking that this is Germania.
But, being terrible at recognizing people I haven’t met in person before, I wasn’t entirely sure.
So I get up anyway as I’m 50% confident that it is her and walk on over around the corner…
And we make eye contact right away in that we both know it is each other.
So the night goes on and we are probably there for maybe an hour more or less…
Before we head over to her place for the night.
Now, as we got to her place, I wasn’t paying attention as to where the taxi was going or the neighborhood we were in when we got there.
And obviously I didn’t know the neighborhood at all as I had very limited time in the DR.
Anyway, we got inside her place, had our fun and went to sleep.
When we woke up….
She had to go to work as she was a nurse and worked at a very nearby hospital.
So once we got outside her door…
We stepped onto a metal balcony spot and I saw it all around us..
This shady as fuck neighborhood all around us…

And was an experience I talked more about in this article here.
Anyway, despite how shady her hood was…
That didn’t stop me from going back…
As the sex was good and she was pretty likeable.
Though I didn’t remember the exact address she was at – the taxi driver and I went on a “finding Nemo” expedition the second time we went back.
And he was mumbling along “why the fuck are we in this area?!?”
Anyway, I made sure to tip him well beyond the agreed upon price for dragging him into a shitty ass area that even he, a local, was cautious of.
But that experience itself…
Going into a shitty neighborhood for some pussy..
That ain’t an usual experience for some gringos to be honest.
There are many who won’t do shit like that.
And even among that crowd – some will probably still stumble into shitty areas.
By accident like I did the first time I went with Germania to her place as I didn’t know she lived in a shitty part of the city.
And that’s what I call “barrio diving.”
Barrio meaning neighborhood but, in this context, a shitty neighborhood.
And so obviously diving into an area like that for reasons…
Some gringos, from what I have heard, dive in for the drugs and prostitutes.
Not my game to be honest as I prefer liquor and Tinder chicks.
And I can get liquor at the nearby Oxxo.
But regardless of how you do it…
Either “barrio diving” for prostitutes and drugs...
Or doing it because some chick on Tinder or whatever dating site convinced you to come by to her place…
To me, while the nuances are there in that both activities have their obvious differences…
It still looks the same to me – going to a shitty area of town that you wouldn’t normally go to for your vices – be it drugs or pussy (paid for or sought by Tinder, etc).
There have been other times that I have “barrio dived” so to speak for chicks that I was pursuing down here.
Mariana & Lizeth
As I wrote here…
When I lived in Bolivia for a few months, I met a chick that we can call Mariana…
Who had a rough life more or less prior to meeting me but was on her feet and all…
And she lived in a rougher part of town in Cochabamba, Bolivia…
After her, there was another Bolivian chick that I met…

Who also lived in a part of Cochabamba that looked pretty sketchy.
Either way, nothing happened when I went to either part of town…
But, given my limited experience in Cochabamba, I didn’t know that I was going to a bad part of town for either chick.
It just happened that way.
The Scam in Buenos Aires
As I wrote here…
There was this young chick in Buenos Aires, Argentina who basically claimed that her husband died…
And she was looking for a new man in her life.
Anyway, through some basic investigation as I wrote here..
I found out that she was full of shit and was trying to lead me into a bad area of the city.
What would have happened had I gone there without looking into her a little bit more?
Who knows.
Maybe, in worst case scenario, she would have tried to make me buy her a nice meal.
But, in a worse scenario, maybe she would have had me mugged or whatever.
Either way, it was one of the few times that some chick online that I met happened to be seemingly trying to put me in a bad situation.
And so while nothing bad happened in every case where I went to a “bad area” of the city down here with some chick…
In this case, had I gone, something bad could have happened and it shows the risk anyway of going to areas of a city down here that you don’t know for pussy or whatever.

This might have been another story told on this website in some other article somewhere…
But basically I had a girlfriend from Colombia at one point…
And she happened to live in a shitty part of a city called Barranquilla.
Anyway, I lived in the same city but in the northern part of the city that was a bit safer relatively speaking…
Well, we had gone on a few dates and had sex back at my place…
And also took a trip to a nearby city called Santa Marta to have a good time there…
Before she wanted to introduce me slowly to her family.
First, her sister.
Who was pretty hot – even hotter than her!
I ain’t hiding it – sometimes I felt in our relationship that I was dating the wrong sister – her sister was more my type.
Either way, I went to her neighborhood for the first time…
And the taxi driver…
Once we got to her area…
Before I even paid him or got out of the taxi…
He turned around and looked at me sternly…
“Ok, I don’t know why you are here but you got to be careful. This is a fucked neighborhood….”
And he started giving me advice on how to be safe…
Typical advice you would here anywhere like don’t go down streets that are not well lighted and don’t flash money…
Etc, etc…
Then started telling me to put some money away in my shoes in case I get mugged for anything in my pockets….
So on and so on…
Either way, was her neighborhood actually dangerous?
I remember taking numerous trips there over the course of our relationship….
On one hand, it definitely felt more dangerous – especially the street she lived on.
Relative to most areas I had been to in Latin America…
It wasn’t the most dangerous area I had seen by far but it definitely did not feel safe.
It had some feeling of “shit could happen any moment” to it.
Like you are waiting to get hit.
Not sure how else to describe it but I feel that puts it down well.
Either way, nothing happened.
And honestly, once you walked a few streets down from where her family lived..
It felt safer as there was more traffic and people in general.
Also, at night, obviously it felt more dangerous than during the afternoon and all.
Anyway, like I said, nothing bad ever happened to me although I did notice the occasional person looking at me weirdly like they were thinking of robbing me…
To more street harassment of random chicks walking around than in the area I lived in.
Like I remember this one chick who had to run into a taxi after being harassed by some random ass dude late at night as Marcela and I were eating salchipapa at some restaurant.
Anyway, it wasn’t bad overall but it did feel a bit sketchier than other areas for sure.

I have a friend named Angie.
Who is a Mexican chick living in CDMX.
Anyway, she used to live in a neighborhood that I would half jokingly say “reminded me of Guatemala.”
To a degree, it did!
It didn’t look like the nicest area of town…
Although, being honest, it wasn’t dangerous at all for the most part.
It simply didn’t look very nice but it was cool.
Final Thoughts
Anyway, on top of my head, those are just some of the examples I can think of regarding any time I had ever gone into some shitty looking area for pussy.
I have occasionally stumbled into other bad areas out of accident…
Either way, though I have never had an issue going into any of these areas chasing pussy of some random ass chick from Tinder or wherever…
You know, technically speaking, I can’t recommend anyone do that.
Though I would for sure – if I was in some random city in LATAM like Bogota – and some random chick I meet at a bar wants me to go to her place for the night …
Ehhhh, sure, whatever.
But I don’t recommend it!
Of course, the part that doesn’t recommend it is the bigger head…
But that head never wins the internal discussions, does it?
Though, being honest, I’m less inclined to do that these days on the first date as I always aim for chicks to try and come to my area first to hookup.
Though if I was hooking up with a particular chick often enough and she wants me in her area next time…
Yeah, again, I’m not going to lie – I’ll going to a shitty area for the pussy just because.
I’m not intimidated against doing so.
But maybe I am pushing my luck there..
Either way, it’s an aspect of dating down here that some reading this will come across…
Just be smart about it and hope nobody steals your organs…
